Samuel Gurr

Assistant Professor, Department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences, Coastal Oregon Marine Experiment Station, Oregon State University

Gurr is an integrative organismal biologist and offers a diverse research history spanning molecular-to-organismal scale. Gurr’s focus on aquaculture models supports the efficacy of phenomics to forecast production and employs functional genomics to understand the molecular machinery underpinning cellular and organismal processes between wild populations and selectively bred genotypes. A pillar of Gurr’s research is on early reprogramming in molluscs, or hormesis, to bolster tolerance to uncertain subsequent environments.
